Our location

Windmill farm is on the very edge of Pibsbury, a small village in the unchanged landscape of the Somerset Levels in South Somerset.

We are easy to reach – A303 7 miles and Junction 24 of M5 16 miles

Langport is our nearest town (2 miles); an ancient and unspoilt market town where you will find amazing cafes, interesting independent shops, pharmacy, Tesco supermarket, cycle hire and lovely walks along the River Parrett.

A twitchers destination! The Somerset Levels and Moors has the largest lowland population of breeding wading birds in the UK and our Starling murmuration’s are renowned.



Fantastic for all cyclists with quiet country roads, many flat and with many tempting cake stops along the way! Your host, Mark, is a keen cyclist so ask him for his favourite routes. Cycle hire at Langport

Launch your vessel at either Cocklemoor pontoon in Langport or at Muchelney, which is just 1 mile away.


The Newt in Somerset www.thenewtinsomerset.com where you will find a magical working estate with acres of splendid gardens, woodland and cyder orchards to explore. They also have a quality garden café, restaurant (expensive but lovely) and a farmshop. You will need to pay an entrance charge.

Hauser and Wirth, Bruton www.hauserwirth.com has a beautiful garden, a free art gallery and restaurant

Barrington Court www.nationaltrust.org.uk stunning gardens and a Tudor manor house and tea rooms.

Clarks village, Street

A retail outlet shopping village with over 90 designer and high street brands and plenty of restaurants/cafes


The second smallest city in the UK and with a great selection of shops, restaurants and places of interest including Wells Cathedral

28 Market Place, Somerton. Modern dining in the heart of Somerton. A top choice to really treat yourselves!

The Devonshire Arms, Long Sutton. Our local pub and restaurant. Excellent seasonal food for lunch or dinner. Sunday lunch is great.

The Barrington Boar, Barrington. A lovely pub in a lovely village! Excellent and wide ranging menu.

The Halfway House, Pitney. A traditional country Inn with good food and a wide range of ales.

The Rose and Crown (Eli’s). Interesting and full of character with a unique bar . Warm and inviting hospitality.

The Bridge Bakery and Canteen. By the river and good for breakfast and lunch. Lovely pastries and bread.

Kitchen. Again, by the river with lots of outside space. Good for breakfast and lunch.

Bere Cider Company. TA10 0QX Lovely coffee shop and you can also try their craft cider!

The Garden Café, The Newt in Somerset. Pay for entrance to the estate. Imaginative home grown produce features in this stylish garden café.

The Roth and Grill at Hauser and Wirth, Bruton. Excellent brasserie and free entrance to art galleries. Durslade Farm Shop – High end farm shop next door

The Queens Arms, Corton Denham – one of our favourite pubs after a bracing walk. Excellent quality and smart country dining.
